Why do Filipinos go to church every Sunday?

As much as I know, many Filipinos spend time in church for around 1 hour to pray and study the bible.

Of course it is with the excemption of their travel time.

To be honest, it sounds troublesome for me.

What do they think about it?

What do they learn from church and how does it affect their lives?
